Gianfranco Ferre
August 15, 1944-June 18, 2007
Gianfranco Ferre, Italian fashion designer and innovator, died today in Milan from a brain hemorrage. Celebrated and internationally acclaimed since the 1980's, Ferre has left the industry with glamorous gowns and the chicest of suits. And as his gowns have gone glamorously down the red carpet, Gianfranco himself will go glamorously down in history.

I know! Isabella Blow was a tragedy as well... And of course, Mr. Robinson, Galliano's right hand man, passed away in May. Not a good year for the fashion world.
