Highlights from this Week in Paris
Couture Week began in Paris on Monday. Chanel, Dior, Lacroix, and Elie Saab are a few that already have made their way down the catwalk. As always, some very innovative looks have graced the runway. Not surprisingly, Galliano was one of the shining creators that I am mentioning. Oriental with a modernized, chic twist was presented at Dior’s show this week. Galliano will never cease to amaze even the fashion crowd.

Elie Saab tries another round at “Look at Me!” Maintaining his accustomed femininity, Saab uses weightless fabrics, bows, and light colors. Although his style keeps me seeking out Saab from season to season, I hear a slight yawn from my fellow fashionistas.

Dark, jaded, and somewhat romantic was the mood emanating from Givenchy’s Couture collection. Yes, the collection did have its share of yellow and prints, but it didn’t take away from the somber, yet mysteriously sexy aura.
